Over 1.5 million people travel during spring break. While most spring break travelers venture to tropical places with sand and beaches, a group of 10 Oklahomans will travel to a place with red dirt, tin shacks and hundreds of lovable children.
A team from Bridgeway Church in Oklahoma City, Okla. will be traveling and spending time at The Maisha Project in Kisumu, Kenya from March 11 through March 21, 2016. The team will be helping in various areas on – ground.
The Bridgeway Team will spend time praying with people, passing out medicine, and delivering food in the Nyalenda Slums. The team will also help disciple the Gospel Project teachers and provide them with resources to share the Gospel in even bigger ways. Over half of Bridgeway’s team is men, which will give them a chance to spend quality time bonding with the men on Maisha’s staff and key mentors.
Over 57 pounds of letters from sponsors and friends will be delivered to children, men and women at Maisha. The Bridgeway team will assist the kids in reading their letters and writing letters in response.
From March 18 through April 1, Pastor Bob Lewis from Pennsylvania and his associate Dr. Barry Badger will be traveling to Maisha. Lewis founded a ministry called The Gathering Place, which focuses on improving the lives of those living with HIV/AIDS. Lewis and Badger will spend time working with Maisha’s Living Positive Project in the Nyalenda Slums and in the home-based health care in the village.
We are extremely thankful for the people who have sacrificed their weeks of vacation to care for the people at Maisha. Please join us in praying for these teams as they travel and share the Gospel.
