You’re Invited to Light the Future!

The Maisha Project invites you, your family and friends to attend Light the Future 2015 at 5 p.m. on Nov. 7 at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum located at 1700 NE 63rd St in Oklahoma City.

Come join us in a night including a performance by the Light the Future choir, a fine dinner, silent auction, live auction and much more.

Eighteen children from Maisha comprising the Light the Future Choir will sing and dance for the audience at the gala.

Christopher Pope, The Skirvin Hotel’s Executive Chef at the Park Avenue Grill, will prepare a special menu for guests featuring locally sourced Oklahoma products.

Joshua Ouko, Maisha’s Kenya Program Director, will be traveling to Oklahoma with the choir to speak at Light the Future. He will share stories of life and how Maisha is impacting the community.

The gala serves as Maisha’s annual fundraiser and supports projects throughout the year. A live auction, as well as a silent auction will take place during the gala. This year’s Fund-a-Building Project auction item will be the dormitories for at-risk children at Maisha Academy.

Many items and services, paintings from the children of Maisha and unique goods from local shops will be up for bid throughout the night. During the live auction, guests will have the opportunity to bid on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Maisha with airfare and a safari included. International artist Kanjana Stearns is painting another masterpiece of the Tree of Life. A storm shelter raffle will also be held. A preview of auction items will appear on the auction page of the event website at http://www.lightthefuturegala.com/.

Last year, over $75,000 was cleared at the gala. This year, we hope to raise even more, so Maisha can continue to make a difference in the lives of children, orphans and widows.

Register online at http://www.lightthefuturegala.com or at the Maisha office for $100 per person or $800 to host a table of eight.

We encourage you to bring everyone you know and join us in a night of food, fun and laughter. Local businesses are being saught to sponsor the event. Individuals and businesses may also choose to host a table of 8.
