Jingle Bells Are RingingJennifer Whitener on
Maisha Christmas Box Project
Jingle bells are ringing! The Maisha Christmas Box Project 2017 has begun and you are invited to fill a box to bring Christmas joy at Maisha.
Choose one of these two easy ways to fill a box:
1. Purchase an easy pre-filled box for $45 via our awesome partner Blu-Source (which includes shipping) at http://www.
For online box purchases, there is an additional option this year we're really excited about. Maisha Project has partnered with Huru International to provide reusable pads to our girls, so they can stay in school while they are on their period. Education is central to the vision of Maisha, and we want to give each of the girls we serve every opportunity to receive an education. Your gift of $20 ensures that two girls will receive these reusable pads, empowering each girl to receive her education without an unscheduled break. Every girl who receives a Huru kit will undergo the training necessary to successfully incorporate the pads into their daily routine.
2. Pick up a box and have the joy of filling it yourself using the designated instructions - see below. Fill your box with gifts and return it before July 28th along with $20 for international shipping.
Imagine the uncontainable joy when a child receives your box on Christmas day. Your gift tells them they are valued, loved and important. You can make that happen!
Starting Friday, April 28th, Christmas Boxes are available for pickup (and drop-off once filled) at Maisha from 9-5 M-F. Our address is 333 NW 5th Ste, Ste 410, Oklahoma City on the 4th floor of Regency Tower.
But hurry, all boxes must be returned by July 28th so they can sail across the sea and make it to Kenya in time for Christmas!
We need your help! You can champion filling a group of boxes with your friends, family, church, etc. Call Laura Alsobrook at 405.604.5243 or email email@example.com and she'll get you started.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING A BOX
Yes, we know it’s tedious, but it’s important. Even one box not complying with guidelines could get all of the boxes rejected at customs. So thank you for taking the time to read and comply. Download form here.
1. BOX DETAILS
Use only the provided official Maisha Christmas Box. Before filling the box, securely seal the bottom with clear packing tape (not colored or masking tape). Leave the top unsealed to pass inspection. Do not wrap the Christmas box or the items inside.
2. WHO IS THE RECIPIENT OF THIS BOX?
The boxes are clearly marked into categories on both sides. Look for the green stamp which indicates for which group you are filling a box. If your gift is for a specific age within the category, write the age on the box. If you are a sponsor, select the correct box and write the child’s full name and ID on the indicated line.
3. WHAT TO PUT IN THE BOX
Fill the box with a variety of fun and useful gifts. Please see the Suggested Items List on the back of this page and make sure to avoid DO NOT INCLUDE items as they will be removed. The suggested gifts may seem like everyday items, but are truly on Kenya wish lists. DO NOT fill the box to bulging.
4. TURN IN INFORMATION SHEET WITH BOX
Fill out the information sheet entirely and return with the box so we may properly record your donation and provide you with an in-kind receipt.
5. $20 FOR INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING PER BOX
Include $20 for international shipping for each box you fill, paid as one combined donation by cash or check payable to “Maisha Project.” One box would be $20, 2 boxes $40, etc. DO NOT seal payment inside the Christmas Box - place in an envelope taped to the outside of the box.
6. DROP-OFF/DEADLINE JULY 28th
Return the box to the location where you picked it up or to the Maisha office downtown OKC –333 NW 5th St, Ste 410 on the 4th floor of Regency Tower M-F 9-5 pm.
All boxes must be returned by July 28th, but the earlier the better so we can finalize for shipment…aka, it will help us greatly if you don’t wait until the last minute.
